Our Impact
Fashion has looked to Mother Nature for inspiration, and often materials, for centuries. Species Swimwear was born from the desire to take this inspiration one step further. Through unique prints and informational swing tags we tell the stories of the species that we share the world with. We go beyond the classic prints and introduce you to the weird and wonderful creatures that many would not have even heard of.
We really believe that knowledge engenders understanding, and with understanding comes the power to make positive change. With this in mind, we’ve adopted a profit-for-purpose business model, which means we channel a portion of our profit into achieving social and environmental benefit.
Currently, we’re committed to donating 10% of all profits to research and not-for-profit organisations who are working towards a better tomorrow, for all species. We aim to steadily increase this number to 50% as our business grows.
Every four months we’ll submit our donation to the beneficiaries listed below:
The Australian Wildlife Conservancy
The Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) was borne out of one man’s mission to turn back the tide of extinctions of Australia’s native species. The mission of the AWC is to ensure the effective conservation of all Australian native species and the habitats in which they live. Through this mission, they have become the biggest private (not for profit) owner and manager of land for conservation in Australia. Through support from donors and innovative partnerships with Indigenous groups, governments and landholders, AWC now owns or manages 29 properties across the nation, covering almost 6.5 million hectares.
LIVIN was established to change the way mental health is perceived and understood worldwide, to break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges and ultimately to reduce the alarming rates of suicide, particularly amongst teenagers and young adults. Their core mission is to end youth suicide across the globe. Through the development of cutting edge education programs, apparel and community awareness initiatives, LIVIN are launching a generational change.
